Blender pens are a great addition to your stamping tool bag! They give you the flexibility to turn your other coloring supplies into watercolors. You can use blender pens with water based markers, inks, watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons and even pastels.
They give you the precision of a pen with the look of watercolors and best yet, the Stampin’ Up! Blender Pens come in a pack of three with two flexible tips on each pen. The tip easily cleans off with just a stroke or two on a piece of scrap paper. That means you can use the same pen for one project and a variety of colors.
To use a blender pen to create a watercolor effect, color or outline a stamped image with Stampin’ Write Markers, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, or Watercolor Pencils. Pull and blend the colors with the blender pen. You can also dip the blender pen into Stampin’ Pastels or Classic Stampin’ Pads and apply directly to paper.
If your blender pens run out of juice here’s a quick tip to refill:
- 2 tablespoons glycerin
- 2 oz. distilled water (important to use distilled water, which is chemical free, to keep your pen from molding with the refill)
- ¾ teaspoon rubbing alcohol
Soak blender pen tips in the refill solution or take apart the pen by gently pulling off one tip then use an eye dropper to refill the barrel.
